This week Andrew and I took a little time to go for a walk with our favourite canine and I’ve shared some photos below. But what I really want to talk about today is a Clean Eating Challenge that I am doing this coming week.
This month my big thing when striving towards a better lifestyled is accountability – so to follow along with that trend I have enlisted the help of my cousins to keep me on track and complete the clean eating challenge with me. For a whole 30 days I am going to remove sugar from my diet. I will do my very best to eat clean and follow my meal plans.
Since really digging in to how much sugar we as a whole consume (see my video comparison on sugary drinks here) I am really excited to feel the positive effects of removing sugar from my diet. I know it won’t be easy but that’s why I am counting on my support system to help me through.
I think that supporting others and embarking on a new challenge together is really encouraging. If as a whole, we do our best to keep each other accountable to the commitment we have made we will have a better chance of succeeding.
Here are some tips for before you start your challenge with your clean eating partners:
- Have a quick meeting to talk about how you want to keep each other accountable. Whether that is a daily inspirational group chat message or quick selfie with your wholesome and clean lunch; decide what works best for your group and stick to it!
- Go over the grocery list together and brainstorm acceptable substitutions in the event that one of the items on the clean eating grocery list isn’t available or preferred.
- Meal Prep together! If at all possible get together at the beginning of the challenge and complete your meal prep for the first week. It’s a perfect excuse to get together and doing it as a team will help any newbies get the hang of preparing their clean eating meals.
I think a clean eating challenge would for sure be something I encourage others to par-take in even if it’s just for a couple weeks to see if it’s something that could be right for you. But that’s all for now, if anyone else is eating clean this January let me know in the comments below!
