Did you know that one in four adult Canadians, and one in ten children have clinical obesity? This statistic, according to the Canadian Obesity Network, means that six million Canadians living with obesity may require immediate help in managing and controlling their weight. This statistic and the world we live in are two of the main reasons why I want to talk about Gut Health today.

Often times people do not realize that to have better health and wellness they need to take care of their gut. A healthy body really does start from the inside out.

Gut Health is a really important issue right now and finally people are starting to realize the impact that their gut has on the rest of their health. Doctors are now saying that gut health can affect everything from mood disorders to autoimmune diseases. Not to mention if you are on a journey to lose weight, it is so important to address any gut health issues you may have.

So, do you want to know how you can promote and maintain a healthier and happier gut? No problem, here are a few things you need to know:

  • If you are not regularly eliminating and drinking enough water, then you are not releasing toxins from your body. To ensure that you are eliminating toxins you are going to want to make sure that you are getting enough vitamin c, magnesium, and bioflavonoids to ensure that your body is an oxygen rich environment.
  • Another thing you can do to create an oxygen rich environment is exercise! If you are stuck on things to do in the winter to stay active, you may find some inspiration here.
  • The next thing you are going to want to do is make sure you are getting enough good probiotic strains – because they can help control the yeast and candida in your body (candida can really wreak havoc on your system).

Gut Health

To summarize, if you want a healthy gut you need to have regular elimination, a healthy dose of vitamin c, magnesium and bioflavonoids and a proper probiotic balance.

With the different toxins and pesticides that we are ingesting and absorbing into our bodies everyday, it is important to think about your health and well-being. You may try your very best to stay clear of toxic foods and fabrics, but in reality, they are difficult to avoid. That is why it is smart to add vitamins and supplements into your life to assist you with your healthy lifestyle choices.

I know that I have really benefited from adding supplements into my routine and I know that I will continue to take them for the rest of my life. If you have any questions I would love to hear from you.

Yours truly,

Melissa Alyse
